What got you out running/walking for the first time?
I have to give Stacy all the credit. She was running marathons and training and I was totally impressed with her perseverance and ability to complete tough training blocks. I never had any intention to jump into a 5k, 1/2, or Marathon, and now Ultras. I was happy just cheering and drinking coffee at the races. Then one day I jumped in and we started running a mile at a time, then 3, then to where we are now.
What’s a song that helps pick up your pace?
I love music and have it always going at home and throughout each day, but when running it’s very seldom that I have the tunes in the ear pods.
What is the race medal you are most proud of and why?
I’m proud of each one.
What is your dream race or location for a run?
There are so many? I have a list, but one that is dear to me is the Tahoe Rim Trail. Last few years I’ve been trying to run farther and I really like going long distances for multiple days. We are very fond of Tahoe and its beauty and have been to many sections of the Tahoe Rim Trail, at different times. However, I would like to do a fastpacking trip and complete the whole in one trip.
What is your favorite trail to run?
Too many to count.
What’s your favorite race distance?
Every distance has a story.
What’s the funniest thing that has happened to you or that you have seen on the trail?
Many great stories happen on the trails. I think we can all write a book about the hilarious stories that come from the adventures on the trails.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not running?
When not running it’s nice to just chill with friends and family, listen to music go to shows, research trails, and relax.
Who are your running heroes? Who inspires you?
Anybody who toes the line at any race.
Describe the moment you realized you were a “runner”.
I think we are all searching for the best runner we can be.
What are your goals?
To stay healthy and keep running, laughing, and sharing memories with running buddies.
What’s your favorite beer (or other drink if you don’t drink beer)?
What ever the race director is serving after a race.
