What got you out running/walking for the first time?
In my sophomore year in high school I went out for the cross country team and I’ve been hooked ever since.
What’s a song that helps pick up your pace?
I don’t have one song, but anything with a good beat that I can sing along to.
What is the race medal you are most proud of and why?
I’m proud of all of my half marathon races (that’s the longest distance I’ve ever done). The Santa Barbara half was probably my toughest race mentally, rainy weather, a fast pace, and a brutal hill at mile 9, there was lots of cursing, but I finished and got a personal best so that felt really good!
What is your dream race or location for a run?
I love the Monterey Bay Half Marathon. The views are spectacular and I love that you can see the ocean for almost the entire race. I also think it would be fun to run the San Diego Rock ‘n’ Roll half marathon one day.
What is your favorite trail to run?
I haven’t done an official race there, but I love running at Chabot.
What’s your favorite race distance?
My favorite distance is the half marathon… tough enough to be challenging, but easy enough that I have time to train amidst my very busy life.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not running?
Eating LOL. Going on walks, hanging out with family and friends, playing with my dogs, going to the lake, and an occasional snow skiing day.
Who are your running heroes? Who inspires you?
All of the amazing distance runners at DB who seem to effortlessly run 50Ks, 100Ks, and beyond! So impressive!
Describe the moment you realized you were a “runner”.
I don’t know if it’s one moment. I love how running makes me feel. You can do it alone or with friends. It’s not only exercise, but it’s stress relief, meditation, and an excuse to hang out with friends more.
What are your goals?
Keep running to stay fit, but most of all to enjoy all of my wonderful running friends!
What’s your favorite beer (or other drink if you don’t drink beer)?
I love Margaritas and I always love a good Fuziotini on Thursday nights!
