What got you out running/walking for the first time?
4 years ago, Richard Dominguez said, “You have been an athlete all your life.” He bet me that I could run a half marathon. I said I couldn’t. He said join ShadowChase, they will teach you how to run. I lost the bet.

What’s a song that helps pick up your pace?
I don’t really have a song; I don’t listen to music when I run. I prefer to listen to what’s around me, especially on trail runs. Seems more relaxing and enjoyable.

What is the race medal you are most proud of and why?
Has to be Way Too Cool 50k. Never in my life would I imagine I could run a trail run that far. Without the great advice and encouragement from my DB family, it would have never happened.

What is your dream race or location for a run?
I like the desert so Javelina would be it.

What is your favorite trail to run?
I am fairly new to trail running, so I would have to say every trail that I’ve been on is a favorite.

What’s your favorite race distance?
35k

What’s the funniest thing that has happened to you or that you have seen on the trail?
People trying to tiptoe through water crossings

What do you enjoy doing when you aren’t running?
Trail hiking. Riding ATVs (in another life, I raced ATVs professionally). And, most people know I’m a dog trainer for pointing breeds.

Who are your running heroes? Who inspires you?
I cannot say just one person but everyone who has helped me achieve what I have accomplished in the running world.

Describe the moment you realized you were a “runner”.
C.I.M. 2016, when I finish my first full marathon. I realized then, to go that distance was an accomplishment.

What are your goals?
100k ?????

What’s your favorite beer (or other drink if you don’t drink beer)?
Arnold Palmer. Apple cider every once in awhile.
