What got you out running/walking for the first time?

I’ve always enjoyed running since my youth, but on a competitive note it was a 5K race in January 2010 that got me running races. I ran one race a month for 4 consecutive years after that. 

What’s a song that helps pick up your pace?

That’s a tough one. Most songs with a fast beat with lyrics that can be understood. Anything Beyonce basically.

What is the race medal you are most proud of and why?

My most recent I would say has to be the New Years One Day 24 hour buckle. It was a race of so many things that I am proud to have triumphed over.

What is your dream race or location for a run?

Western States Endurance Run for sure. But I’m always intrigued with more and more races that get added to the list. I’m sure many of them will lead me to crossing the finish line in Auburn one day. Fingers crossed!

What is your favorite trail to run?

Del Valle. Beautiful place with great runnable and challenging trails. I still have lots of trails yet to see though.

50K

What’s the funniest thing that has happened to you or that you have seen on the trail?

Seeing a dog with glasses at the New Years One Day. His owner says the dog doesn’t seem to mind wearing them because he is light sensitive.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not running?   

Being outdoors period. I enjoy a good book, and things sewing as well.

Who are your running heroes?

Everyday Janes and Joes. Anyone that puts in time and effort to achieve their running goals pretty much.

Who inspires you?

People that figure out how to juggle life and achieve goals, no matter the cost.

Describe the moment you realized you were a “runner”.

I’m still working on it. I feel like a runner isn’t by how fast you are or how far you go. Running makes you a runner. But when being recognized by other “runners”, that is for sure distinguishing.

What are your goals?

To continue to build strength and endurance to achieve anything the wind blows my way.

What’s your favorite beer (or other drink if you don’t drink beer)?

Beer isn’t my forte, not much other adult beverages tickle my fancy either. But if I can’t taste the alcohol, there’s a chance I’ll try it.
