What got you out running/walking for the first time?

I always believed I didn’t have a “runner’s body” and have had a lifetime struggle with my weight and low self-confidence. One day I emailed Shadow Chase and Susan Taylor responded. I was so intimidated to go to an informational meeting, but she said she’d be there waiting for me. She was there and I will always be grateful to her ~ that was in 2014. I joined the Wrockers and fell in love with interval running. I started at 47 years old so I was a little late to the party, but so happy I got here!

What’s a song that helps pick up your pace?

I don’t listen to music, usually, when I get in miles. I’m super social and enjoy company to pass the time. If I were to listen to anything it would most likely be from the 90’s (I’m old!)

What is the race medal you are most proud of and why?

2018 Livermore Half because both of my kids ran it with me 💗

What is your dream race or location for a run?

Hawaii, I am going on a running cruise in March 2022 with a race on several islands 🏝

I hope Alaska will be next in 2023.

What is your favorite trail to run?

I don’t know if I have a favorite trail ~ I want to run the trail to Alamere Falls in Point Reyes. I went there to check out the waterfalls and camp sites, but didn’t realize it looks like a fun trail for a run; It has a little of everything.

What’s your favorite race distance?

I am perfectly content with a half marathon! I am not Ulta runner material ~ I am an Ultra Runner cheerleader 😎

What’s the funniest thing that has happened to you or that you have seen on the trail?

It’s detrimental to follow me, unless you intend to get lost… I have a knack for getting lost. I have a talent for making it look easy peasy 🙄

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not running?

I feel like this is a trick question.

Who are your running heroes? Who inspires you?

There are so many inspirational people in our running community ~ I won’t try to name them all. I am grateful to be a part of such awesomeness.

Describe the moment you realized you were a “runner”.

When I lost my first of three toenails, devloped Morton Neuroma and runner’s knee (patellofemoral)…. I’m pretty sure non-runners would have quit the sport by now.

What are your goals?

I am an uncomplicated being ~ my goals are to be a good, loving respectful person to every person I am blessed to meet.

What’s your favorite beer (or other drink if you don’t drink beer)?

Ask Pete at Fuzios 😉. Go DB!
